Meeting the President is bound to be a thrill, but one woman did a jive for joy when she came face to face with Barack Obama – despite being 106-years-old.
Virginia McLaurin held tight to Barack and First Lady Michelle’s hands as she got to meet the high-profile pair.
Born in 1909, Virginia made an appearance at the White House following a petition to meet the first black President and his “black” wife, in her words.
She said: “I’m here to celebrate black history.”

A petition in 2014 requested the meeting, and she repeated her plea in a YouTube video uploaded in December, 2014.
Throughout February, as part of Black History Month, the White House hosts events to celebrate African Americans, past and present, who have shaped the US.
