Nigeria’s national team handler Sunday Oliseh has visited Liverpool’s youngster, Jordan Ibe, in a bid to convince him to pitch his international tent with Nigeria.

The highly rated youngster has represented England at junior levels and is expected that he will feature in Gareth Southgate’s Under 21 squad at some point during the next European Championship qualification campaign.

Oliseh’s visit to Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground, is the second attempt Nigeria would be making to woo the player who qualifies to represent Nigeria through his father. Ex-International VIctor Ikpeba – a member of the Nigerian FA’s technical committee – had earlier this year stated that they were looking that the player with a view to convincing him to choose Nigeria over England.

Ibe, who has been in fine form in pre-season says his hopes to carry on that form into the new Premier league season.

With the departure of Raheem Sterling from the Liverpool folds, Ibe is expected to play a bigger role for the Reds in the coming season.
