Is this the reasons Leicester City are surprising everyone this season?
The Foxes top the Premier League with eight games to go and are on course to win the most shocking title ever.
Fans and pundits alike have been scratching their heads to try and work out why Claudio Ranieri’s group of journeymen and unknowns have upset the odds so much .
And now we know…THAI MONKS.
Yep. Ranieri’s players have been regularly blessed by thai monks at the behest of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who is thought to be a devout Buddhist.
We’ve previously heard of the monks’ visits with striker Jamie Vardy revealing exactly what the holy men do when they visit the squad.
“I hang some amulets on their necks and I gave them these fabric talismans,” monk Phra Prommangkalachan told AFP.
“I’m not sure if they understood what I explained to them about it, but they knew that it would bring them luck.
“He [Srivaddhanaprabha] brought monks there to pray for auspiciousness and luck in the game, for the management team and the players,” added the 64-year-old monk.
