PSG hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the killer goal to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League and then proclaimed: “We’re not satisfied yet.”
The Swedish star turned in an Angel Di Maria cross midway through the second-half cross to make it 4-2 on aggregate and take the tie beyond Chelsea.
It was a deserved goal for the man of the match on the night who proved he still has plenty to offer at the top level amid speculation he is set to finally test himself in the Premier League next term.
The 34-year-old Ibrahimovic, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United when his PSG contract expires in the summer, enjoyed a far better night at Stamford Bridge than he did last year when he was shown a straight red card after half-an-hour.
“I stayed more than 20 minutes on the pitch this year! We did a good game, very stable,” Ibrahimovic told BT Sport.
“We played with lots of patient possession and when we had a chance to strike we scored two goals. We had enough to win the game.
“Overall we played the way we wanted to. It was not easy, you have to watch out. Chelsea’s front four are able to do anything. We are doing good things, where we end up we don’t know. We are not satisfied yet.”
Les Parisiens manager Laurent Blanc denied Ibrahimovic’s goal would give him more self-assurance, joking: “I don’t think it’s going to give him any more confidence. He has plenty of that as it is.”
PSG are joined in the last eight of the competition by Real Madrid, Wolfsburg and Benfica, with the final four last 16 second-legs taking place next week.
