John Terry has posted an emotional Instagram message to former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese was sacked on Thursday with the Blues languishing at the foot of the Premier League table.
Monday night’s defeat to Leicester was the club’s NINTH of the league season already – a spectacular fall just months after lifting the title.
Guus Hiddink is now expected to take charge at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season.
And Terry, who has been captain under Mourinho during both spells at the club, has taken to social media to show his sadness at the departure.
He posted: “Thank You doesn’t seem enough. Sad sad day. Gonna miss you Boss.
“The Very Best I have EVER worked with, unbelievable memories together #boss #friend #specialone #bestever”
Terry has endured a difficult season this term, despite playing every minute of every game in Chelsea’s title triumph.
He was substituted at half-time during the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in Chelsea’s second game of the campaign before being sent off at West Brom.
Terry was also withdrawn before the end of Monday’s loss at Leicester after another disappointing showing.
He follows on from Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta in taking to social media after the departure of Mourinho.
