Norwich’s Martin Olsson is the most “overweight” footballer in the Premier League, at least as far as the NHS is concerned.

The health service’s guidelines say that adults can use body mass index (BMI) to to see whether their weight is healthy when compared to their height.

The guidelines say that: “If your BMI is 25 or more, you should think about losing weight.”

One criticism of BMI though is that it doesn’t distinguish between fat and muscle.

As many as 26 Premier League stars could do with losing a few pounds if the NHS guidelines are to be believed.

Tottenham’s Eric Dier and Norwich’s Kyle Lafferty fit this bill, though Peter Crouch is also very close to the threshold.
