Watford striker Isaac Success has warned good friend Odion Ighalo he’s after his place.

The Nigerian striker capped a perfect week when he struck his first goal since becoming Watford’s record signing this summer in their draw with Bournemouth.

Success said: “I watched last season as Odion got all those goals for Watford – and I was with him at Granada for a short while.

“I came over to meet him. He is a very good player and someone I have always looked up to.

“He has given me good advice, telling me how to stay calm on the pitch no matter what the situation – that is one of his strengths.

“Every player at Watford is looking for chances to get into the team. I want to play, I don’t think too much about taking someone else’s position and there are many good players here.

“When I scored the first thing I did was to look over at the bench and Odion was celebrating more than I was – my African brother.

“He is like a big brother to me with all the advice he has given me in the past, we are one team and we won’t be thinking too much about taking each other’s place.

“If you find yourself in the team, you play. The price tag doesn’t worry me, but it makes me work harder.

“The club have seen me starting at Granada and know what I am capable of, so I have to keep working now.”
