Mourinho tells Woodward to step up Man Utd James Rodriguez chase

Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United chief Ed Woodward to intensify efforts to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.

Don Balon says Mourinho is a big admirer of the midfielder and wants him in his team.

Real Madrid are thought to be willing to cash in on the Colombian this summer after he fell out of favour at the Bernabeu.

Jorge Mendes – Mourinho and Rodriguez’s agent – will be key in a potential deal.

Paris St-Germain have been linked with the playmaker in the past but United look to be the favourites to get the deal done given the Mourinho and Mendes connection.
