Claims of Cesc Fabregas undermining Jose Mourinho at Chelsea have been rubbished.

The Telegraph says Mourinho does not believe Cesc was one of the Chelsea players who had stopped playing for him.

The former Blues manager thought Fabregas was one of his strongest allies in the Chelsea dressing-room and spoke personally with him twice in the hours before and after his sacking. The pair have also exchanged numerous text messages.

Mourinho held talks with Fabregas before his sacking, in which he told the 28-year-old that he was planning to rely heavily on him in the fight to save his job. Mourinho then telephoned Fabregas after his dismissal to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best.
