John Mikel Obi scored his second champions league goal in a feisty encounter with French champions, Paris Saint Germain this evening. The Nigerian midfielder wasn’t having the best of nights as he conceded a foul in a dangerous area before deflecting the resulting free kick into his own goal.
He went from villain to hero as he swept home an equalizer on the stroke of halftime from a Diego Costa layoff. Chelsea went on to lose the game 2-1 but thanks to Mikel Obi, they have a vital away goal, a one-nil victory in the reverse fixture will see then through to the next round.

This Mikel goal is a calculated attempt to make us forget the fact that as at today, 1 dollar is sold for 345naira. Sips tea?

Mikel: “I had to foul (Ibra) because he was going deeper and deeper into our 18 yard box. I had to, if not get the ball, foul him.”
