Former Argentina attacker Diego Maradona has revealed he has an agreement with Prince Ali of Jordan to be the vice-president of FIFA if he is elected come February 26, 2015.
He said: “If he should win the election, I will be at his side as vice-president.”
Maradona continued his verbal’s on FIFA and UEFA by alleging that the two associations are not as distant as they seem.
Maradona said Sepp Blatter, the president of FIFA was the person who mentored UEFA president Michel Platini in the act of stealing association monies.
The 54 year old told Naples television station PiuEnne: “I’m outside all that because someone called Blatter closed all doors on me.”
“But I’m not a thief. Blatter did a lot of harm to football and with Platini it’s a farce. They pretend to be separated, one at FIFA and the other at UEFA, while in fact they were always side by side.”
He added: “The only thing Blatter could teach Platini was how to steal.”
Meanwhile, two Nigerians, Segun Odegbami and Orji Uzor Kalu, have announced their intentions to take over from Sepp Blatter when he steps down next year.
Former Abia State Governor, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu first made his ambition known before Odegbami made his intentions known.
Other contenders include South Korean Chung Mong-joon, a former Asian vice-president of FIFA as well as the old Brazilian World Cup star Zico and former Trinidad and Tobago international David Nakhid. South African businessman Tokyo Sexwale is also considering a bid.
