Premier League trio Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are among the top five most expensively assembled squads in Europe, CIES has revealed.

A record £1billion was spent by Premier League clubs on new players over the summer and according to research from CIES, it has come to light that five English sides make up the top 10 most expensive squads in Europe.

City, United and Chelsea have made the top five while Liverpool and Arsenal round off the top ten.
