Lukman Haruna has spoken of his delight at been recalled to the Nigeria squad by new Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh.

The Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder has been in international wilderness since his last appearance for the national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup hosted by South Africa.

Haruna said he was ready to prove that Oliseh had not made a mistake in inviting after having been overlooked by national team coaches over the past five years.

With one goal in five starts for Anzhi who he joinedon loan from Dynamo Kyiv, Haruna is quickly establishing himself as a vital part of the Russian club’s midfield.

“I’m just looking forward to this game because it’s an exciting time for me, this news is a challenge for me to come and give my best,” Haruna said.

“I want to be a useful addition to the squad and I believe we will continue improving.”

Nigeria takes on Tanzania in Dar es Salaam in its second game of the African Cup of Nations qualifying group stage, and will be Oliseh’s first match in charge since taking over from Stephen Keshi.
