Jose Mourinho says he’s ready to hit the ground running at Manchester United.

Mourinho was confirmed as new Manchester United manager this morning.

Speaking to MUTV, he declared: “I feel great. I think it comes at the right moment of my career.

“It’s what I used to call a giant club and giant clubs need the best managers.

“I’m ready for it. I’m proud, I’m honoured.

“I prefer to forget the last three years. I prefer to focus on the giant job I have in my hands now. What the fans are expecting me to says is that I want to win.

“The players need to listen: I want to win.

“I think I know what they can give me. I think they know what I can give them.

“The most important thing is the relationship with the players but the relationship [with the fans] is important.”
