Coach of Nigeria’s U-23 side, Samson Siasia, has insisted that Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi, is ready to play for the Super Eagles.

Iwobi, who is Austin Jay Jay Okocha’s nephew, was in fine form for the Gunners, as they won the Emirates Cup last weekend.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has already made it clear that the forward will not be leaving the Emirates on loan.

Siasia has now called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to get the paperwork done, so he can play for Nigeria.

“We should cap him now to prevent England from snatching him from us. I wish he was eligible to play for the Under-23s, I would have drafted him to play for my team,” Siasia told completesportsnigeria.com.

“Iwobi has come of age and I think now is the time to cap him for Super Eagles. He is a good player that will be of a great future in Nigeria football. NFF should speed up action and get him cleared to feature for Nigeria.”
