Chelsea are hopeful of concluding a £30million deal for Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Leicester have offered the 25-year-old a new contract worth over £100,000-a-week to stay but Kante is set on the idea of joining up with Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
The France international is keen to stay in the Premier League and shun the advances of Shanghai SIPG, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain with a five-year deal on the table at Chelsea.
Kante has a £20m trigger clause that allows teams to open talks with Leicester but Chelsea accept they will have to offer more to reach accord with the Premier League champions.
The Foxes say a fee has not been agreed. Kante was offered a new contract before Euro 2016 which was turned down.
Leicester have since made a new offer which is still being discussed but Chelsea remain keen on landing the midfielder.
Kante was one of Leicester’s star performers last season as Claudio Ranieri’s men lifted the Premier League title.
