Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink says new signing Alexandre Pato isn’t fit enough for first team football.

Pato, who joined on loan from Corinthians, still is not match fit.

On Pato’s progress, he said: “He’s at the end of the second week of his pre-season and he’s doing well.

“He came off holiday and you can see the difference in the players who are in daily training and those just off holiday. But after 10 days he’s progressing.

“We’ll see how he goes into the next tough programme, planned for next week. The skill is something nature gives. You can improve that, but the level of fitness and frequent actions of speed, for instance… that needs training sessions.”
