Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was shown a yellow card for simulation against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Referee Michael Oliver opted to book Fabregas for diving when he went over in the area under pressure from Santi Cazorla but the Spanish playmaker has played down the incident.

When questioned about the penalty incident, he said: “He [Santi Cazorla] definitely touched me, I don’t know if I could have stood up more but he touched me and that’s why I fell.

“The referee told me he would look at it after and learn from it.”

The 0-0 draw effectively ended any hopes of a late Gunners’ challenge for the Premier League with Chelsea sitting 10 points clear at the top of the table with five fixtures remaining.
