Has new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s tactical masterplan been leaked online?
A series of pictures purporting to be the former Italy chief’s scribbled formations and tactical diagrams have appeared on the internet, showing an attack-minded 4-2-4 formation.
The plans, report the Sun , appear to show that Conte will ditch the three-man defence that was a trademark of his JUventus and Azzurri sides.
Instead, it looks as though he will play with only two recognised midfielders, while having four forward-thinking players.
The drawings are from the 2-0 loss to Rapid Vienna and show Jon Obi Mikel and Nemanja Matic as holding midfielders, with wide-men Willian and Victor Moses pushing forward alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Diego Costa in more central roles up front.
Conte will now be able to call on new signing N’Golo Kante to fill one of these central midfield roles, following the Frenchman’s £30million move from Chelsea on Saturday.
