News filtering in from sources closes who are close to the Presidency are that President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated his associates in the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ministers in the list delivered to Senator Bukola Saraki on Wednesday, September 30, 3015.
According to online news site, The Cable, Buhari has nominated the following APC politicians as ministers:
Former Governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi
Former Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi
Former Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola
Former Governor of Anambra, Chris Ngige
Former Governor of Abia State, Ogbonnaya Onu.
Also, reportedly on the list are, the national publicity secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, former senator, Barrister Udoma Udo Udoma, and the woman who almost became the first elected female governor in Nigeria, Aisha Alhassan, who contested for governor in the last elections losing to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Taraba, Darius Ishiaku. Another former governorship candidate nominated is Adebayo Shittu of Oyo State.
The Cable also reports that Buhari nominated Malami Abubakar, SAN, former legal advisor of his defunct party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Hadi Sirika, a former pilot and former senator under the platform of the CPC representing Katsina State, and Amina Mohammed, a former special advisor to President Goodluck Jonathan on Millenium Development Goals.
A surprise name is Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, current Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). It is being speculated that Kachikwu would serve as Minister of State for Petroleum to Buhari who has announced he would appoint himself the Petroleum Minister.
