A popular Gospel music act, Evangelist Rotimi Onimole a.k.a. Oba Ara, is not happy right now.
This is on the ground that his house was raided by policemen from the Special Anti-Robbery (SARS).
According to Global Excellence magazine, the Ikorodu home of the gospel singer was searched while his family members were held hostage based on the allegation that the artist peddles cocaine. Oba Ara was also accused of theft.
The astonished gospel singer who was away in Ondo state where he had gone to perform as at the time of the raid said:
“I had performed over the night and was having my rest in the early hours when I got a call from my house that the police came looking for me.”
“My brother informed me that they were in my house looking for something, I asked what but he wouldn’t speak, so I left immediately for Lagos.”
“I am a young gospel artiste who’s striving to make a head-way in the industry and mostly I invested all I earn from my land’s business on my music. I don’t know why anyone would be doing this to me.”
On getting back to Lagos, Oba Ara went to the police station where he showed them his CD albums and the evidence of his active involvement in property business and sales of used cars.
He has since been left off the hook after a thorough investigation.
“We didn’t know he is a celebrity. It is one of our informants that hinted us that the guy is engaging in shady activities,” declared one of the police officers who carried out the operation.
