A man has been jailed for cutting off his friend’s PE NIS – and it’s feared that he was planning to sell it illegally .
The only reason that his crime was uncovered was that he had the male member on his person and it was starting to smell.
Phulamazira Kang’ombe attacked his friend on the way home from a local pub in November 2014.
The friend, Chimwemwe Madeya, was accosted by the 34-year-old in Malawi and subjected to a vicious attack which included having his pe nis chopped off.
Police spokesperson Inspector Kingsley Dandaula from the Lilongwe force said that Kang’ombe was discovered when some locals smelled a “bad odour” off him later that day.
Following his arrest, he was charged with grievous harm, and has now been handed a 16-year jail term, reports News24 .
Although he has not admitted that he was going to sell the body part, Malawi has a history of trade in severed genitalia, with four people being jailed for trying to sell private parts for £16,000 in May 2013.
Genitals are in “high demand from witchdoctors” according to the UK-based Nyasa Times , while “merchants” also sell pe nises and tes ticles abroad.
In his closing remarks on the Kang’ombe case, prosecutor assistant superintendent Gomezgani Mchawi said: “The victim is young and will no longer enjoy his conjugal rights, furthermore he will not be able to give birth [father children].”
