Guus Hiddink has given his approval for Chelsea to bid for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
The Sun says Hiddink has told Chelsea officials he wants to buy Vardy in January if he takes over at the club.
The England international will be at the top of the Blues’ shortlist.
Talks are ongoing between Hiddink and Roman Abramovich although the Dutchman is expected to take over from Monday at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea on Thursday after suffering nine defeats in 16 Premier League matches leaving the champions just a point above the relegation zone.
