About 100 suspected members of Boko Haram have been killed and 17 others arrested by hunters and members of a vigilance group in the Madagali area of Adamawa State.
The hunters and members of a vigilance group raided Madagali, Michika and Mubi on Sunday, during which they killed the suspected terrorists and rescued over 280 women and children too.
Three local hunters, who are currently being treated at Madagali General Hospital, were injured following the exchange of gunshots with the insurgents.
About 200 youths were recently recruited and specially trained to face the terrorist group in the last two weeks by Hon. Emmanuel Tsamdu, the member representing Madagali in the State House of Assembly.
The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, ASP Othman Abubakar, said he was aware of the killings, but added that he was still waiting for the official confirmation from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area.
