Wayne Rooney and David Beckham have both owned the same model of Bentley and it’s no surprise that Vardy, someone with modest roots, wants to make the most of his time in the spotlight.

Jamie Vardy hasn’t taken long to fully utilise his new £13million contract by buying a brand new £168,000 Bentley Continental GT.

Vardy, who recently signed a new three-and-a-half year deal at Leicester City worth £75,000 a week, was quick to show off his new purchase at training on Tuesday.

The Premier League’s top goalscorer with 19 goals to his name this season was pictured leaving Leicester’s training ground in his new purchase – a far cry from the Volkswagen Golf it is believed he used to drive while playing for Halifax Town.

It is befitting that Vardy should upgrade his wheels now just as Leicester are preparing for one of the most dramatic ends to a season in their history.

By buying a Bentley Continental GT he joins the ranks of top level stars who prefer the luxurious motor to a more fast furious car.

It's probably taken Vardy a bit of time to get used to his new motor compared to what he used to drive

And who could blame him. After all he has done what any current non-League footballer would want to do – make it all the way up the leagues before dominating in the Premier League.

It’s also no surprise that Vardy is already gearing up for next season when Leicester, as long as they stay in the top four, will thrust into the world of Champions League football.

Indeed, Vardy and his team-mates will have a bit more money to spend in the summer if they do go on to win the league itself.

As Sportsmail reported, Leicester’s Thai owners have promised a £million bonus if they can finish ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City.
