It’s never a good time for a football manager in the weeks following a high-profile sacking .
Though managerial departures are part and parcel of the modern game (and, in this case, not unexpected), it must still be pretty tempting to dwell on past mistakes and difficulties in the job. We imagine that Brendan Rodgers has done a fair bit of reflecting in the last few days. In fact, we reckon the former Liverpool boss will be feeling a tad annoyed with how things have gone for him.
He surely doesn’t need more annoyance in the form of a hilarious picture of him “caught slippin”, asleep on a plane. Unfortunately – and we’re genuinely sorry for this – that’s exactly what we’ve got for Brendan here.
One cheeky fellow has snapped the Northern Irishman crashed out on an easyJet flight to the continent. The pic isn’t taken from the most flattering of angles.
Fellow passenger Mike Lindfield spotted Rodgers sitting behind him and decided to immortalise the moment – this is the rather amusing result.
He captioned the snap with the pithy observation that it “must be tough being sacked and having to spend the week in Marbella #LFC #liverpool #planeselfie”. That’s one way to look on the bright side, we suppose.
Poor Brendan. He just can’t catch a break at the moment. Well, unless it’s a nice mini-break in Spain.
