Ghana international striker Asamoah Gyan has denied the rape allegation against him.

The Shanghai SIPG striker was last week accused of raping a certain Sarah Kwablah by Ghanaian lawyer Dr Maurice Ampaw.

The allegations was made during the trial of a case of Gyan’s manager Anim Addo.

According to Kwablah’s counsel, Dr Maurice Ampaw during the court hearing, Gyan forcefully had anal sex with Sarah, got her pregnant and asked for an abortion in exchange for ‘any amount of money.’

Gyan has however replied through his lawyer who said the accusation ‘the most ludicrous media tirade’ in the history of Ghana.

 “The young woman lodged a complaint in  June 2015 of rape under natural canal knowledge against Asamoah Gyan at the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service at the ministries, Accra,”  Gyan’s lawyer Kusi Agyabeng said at a press conference on Tuesday, December 8.

The docket was transferred to the headquarters of the criminal investigation department in Accra.

The lawyer of the former Sunderland striker revealed that Criminal Investigation Department, Accra have revealed that after  a careful study of the docket, the Attorney General has concluded that the rape and unnatural canal allegations made by Kwablah against Gyan are totally baseless and that the docket should be closed.

In plain language, Asamoah Gyan has been cleared of all of Sarah Kwablah’s allegations of rape and sodomy,” Gyan’s lawyer said.

Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to address the media. However lives are involved and reputations have been affected. Right must be put right and wrong must be put in it’s place.”
