Former Disney child star Deleriyes Joe Cramer has been arrested for allegedly robbing a bank and fleeing police.
The 42-year-old actor – who starred as David Scott Freeman in 1986 classic Flight of the Navigator – was arrested in British Colombia on Sunday following an incident last Thursday.
According to CBC News , Cramer has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent to commit and indictable offense, failing to stop for a police officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police told the broadcaster that a man wearing a wig, bandanna and sunglasses entered a Scotiabank in Sechelt and demanded to be handed money.
He is said to have fled the scene, but was identified on surveillance footage after authorities recognised him based on previous encounters.
Constable Harrison Mohr of the Sunshine Coast Royal Canadian Mounted Police said: “Despite the fact that a disguise was used during the robbery, the suspect was quickly identified by some of our officers, who had recently dealt with him on an unrelated matter.”
He is in custody, and authorities are yet to reveal whether or not weapons were used in the robbery.
Following Deleriyes’ leading role in Flight of the Navigator, he starred in Stone Fox before moving back to British Colombia.
