An ex-Home and Away star has been charged with rape and indecent assault, it has been reported.
Martin Lynes, 48, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of attacking a womanat his home in New South Wales.
The former actor faces nine offences including having sexual intercourse without consent, and assault with an act of indecency.
The charges also include four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and three counts of common assault, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Lynes strenuously denies the allegations and has vowed to fight the charges, he told the Daily Telegraph.
An apprehended violence order is in place preventing Lynes from contacting his alleged victim.
The woman, aged 51, is believed to have raised the alarm following the incident at the Australian actor’s home on February 29.
Lynes was arrested the following day.
He was granted conditional bail and has been ordered to face Wyong Local Court again on 27 April.
Lynes, who now works in real estate, starred as Adam Sharpe in the long-running Australian soap.
He also played the role of Luke Forlano in Aussie medical drama All Saints.
