Former England defender of Nigerian descent and Tottenham Hotspur U-23 coach, Ugo Ehiogu has died at 44 in the early hours of today, April 21.
Ehiogu had suffered a cardiac arrest at the club’s training on Thursday, with his death coming as a rude shock.
Tottenham’s scheduled reserve clash at Manchester United has been postponed as a result.
‘Words cannot express the shock and sadness that we all feel at the club,’ said the club’s head of development, John McDermott.
A statement from Spurs reads, ‘The club sends its deep condolences to Ugo’s family. Gemma has specifically asked that the family are given privacy at this difficult time.
