Alvaro Morata is someone who has forced himself into becoming one of the hottest properties within European Football after two fantastic seasons at Juventus. Antonio Conte has made his signing a priority so Chelsea have opened talks with Real Madrid and not Juventus over a possible move!

For those of you wondering why we would have to negotiate with Real Madrid and not Juventus, it’s because the Spanish giants inserted a buy-back clause believed to be around £23-24m and they have activated the option to do so this summer. With no plans to include Morata in their first team squad, Real have seen his reputation in the game increase so plan to now move him on for a profit of around £16m with a fee being quoted for his services of around £40m.

Such a strange turn of events and you have to feel for Juventus who have reaped the benefit of his performances in the past two years but you have to take your hat off to Real for doing what they are without ever intending to play him!

So what of Chelsea’s interest in the 23-year-old Spanish Striker? Plenty of people would have put two and two together because of the link to Juventus we have in Antonio Conte. Well Conte was part of the decision making process that took Morata to Italy before he walked away from the Italian side.

However, he still holds the Striker in high regard and believes that he could play through the middle on his own or part of a front two which gives us options. It’s reported that he is a big fan of his pace, energy and work rate and has made him a priority signing this summer.
