Student rushed to hospital with urine infection discovers she has FOUR kidneys
A woman who underwent surgery on one of her kidneys was stunned to be told by doctors she had actually had four of them.
Jessica Curphey, 20, was rushed to hospital after she developed excruciating pain on her right side. Just weeks earlier, her GP had diagnosed a urine infection, prescribing her antibiotics. But scans at Surrey’s St Helier Hospital revealed what doctors first thought was a 17cm cyst on her right kidney. Then 11 days later, further tests showed Jessica actually had two kidneys on her right side, the second of which was the ‘cyst’ –and was so damaged it would have to be removed. Commercial Bus Driver Crashes Into A Shop Leaving Many Injured In Port Harcourt
An intra-city commercial bus burst into a roadside shop in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wednesday night, leaving a passenger bleeding profusely with a ruptured skull and others with various degrees of injury.
The incident which happened at about 9.30 pm at Ada George Road would have been more horrible if the shop owners who sell tiles and ceramics had not closed business for the day.
Fabian Woke who witnessed the accident said a squatter trader who uses front of the shop to sell kerosene and fuel at night was even luckier when the bus broke into the shop.
“The guy was lucky. He closed earlier than usual to watch the Chelsea/Benfica Europa Cup final at a nearby barber shop. It didn’t take 10 minutes after he left when the bus came crashing into the shop,” Woke said.

FRSC Official Crushed Down By Tipper In Imo
A female official (names withheld) of Imo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, was, at the weekend, crushed by a tipper lorry.
The FRSC official who was crushed by the tipper lorry with registration number AE 285 ABN, on Friday, was said to be trying to cross the ever busy Owerri-Umuahia federal highway. The incident occurred at the roundabout close to Imo State headquarters of the FRSC Sector Command, Egbu.
Shocked FRSC personnel declined to speak to newsmen on the death and referred our correspondent to the Sector Commander, who was said to be unavailable.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finally released the results of candidates whose results were initially withheld over non-biometric verification even as 91, 610 candidates will commence the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. Court Dissolves Firm And Jails Workers Of Barewa Pharmaceuticals 28 Years, Manufacturer Of My Pikin
A Federal High Court, Lagos has wound up Barewa Pharmaceutical Ltd, the manufacturer of My Pikin baby teething mixture, which allegedly killed about 80 babies in 2008.
Justice Okechukwu Okeke, in his judgment on Friday, also sentenced two of the company’s employees to a total of 28 years imprisonment.
Barewa Pharmaceutical Company, its Production Manager, Mr. Adeyemo Abiodun; and the Quality Assurance Manager, Egbele Eromosele, were convicted for conspiracy and selling of a dangerous drug.
Okeke sentenced each of Abiodun and Eromosele to seven years for conspiracy to sell a dangerous drug and to another seven years for selling dangerous drug, but ordered that the sentences should run concurrently.

The Anglican Church has said it will not release the body of the renowned author, Prof. Chinua Achebe, to the Ogidi community, Anambra State for burial.
Similarly, the church and family of the late professor have said that they will not allow his wife, Christy, to go through the traditional widowhood rites that women who lose their husbands in Igboland are made to undergo.
The Archdeacon of Ogidi and Vicar of St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Ven. Obi Ubaka, told Saturday PUNCH that the body of Achebe belonged to the church, which shall perform the final rites for the fallen statesman on Thursday, May 23.
The church’s reaction came as Chief S. Okoli, the Regent of Ogidi, Achebe’s hometown, said the late author would be buried at night because he was a titled man.
