Born in 1992 and formerly known as DJ Cupcake, Florence ‘Cuppy’ Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola began by playing the Piano after which she ventured into beat-making and thereafter DJing in the UK. She calls this new sound Neo-Afrobeats, a genre of music, which blends Electric House with Afro-beats. Listen to her debut single titled ‘I love my country’ which she says was written by Wole Soyinka.
I mentioned earlier on my Facebook page that I don’t follow Big Brother Africa and that is by choice. A choice I believe lots of people have on their decoders by ignoring or disabling the channel off their bouquet. I align myself with Professor Wole Soyinka’s statement made a few years back that BBA is pervasive and debasing. Reading snippets of this year’s edition on some online platforms, I think the good Prof’s statement has largely been vindicated. Uninhibited sexual frolicks on open camera, accusations of STDs being passed around, shameless smooching by hormonal charged housemates and ear-tingling swear words are the pre-dominant values being shown to the continent from that neo-Gommorhic contraption of a creation. Of course, I’m told the content producers cleverly hide

French fiscal authorities say the player did not pay income taxes in 2008 and 2009 as well as property taxes in 2011 on his 900m2 home, which they say will be auctioned at €200,000, three times lower than its market value. In a statement released on Tuesday in Marseille, the tax office said Taiwo, who recently joined Turkish side Bursaspor, owes €1,025,000 in taxes, but can apply through his lawyer for instalment or delayed payment if

And he agreed that when this is over, we may have to start a foundation so we can help others going through same problem.” OJB is still undergoing dialysis at the Lagos

In this part of the world and continent, men take a domineering role in the family. The man is seen as the head of the family. Because of that, most men take responsibility of making provision for the family in every aspect. Back in the days, the role of women in the family was limited to the kitchen and the farms, where they helped their husbands. But things have changed now as some women have assumed the role of men in the family and mostly give support to men in terms of providing for the upkeep of the family. For female celebrities in Nigeria, one challenge they face is getting young men that would marry them as wives, which has made some of them end up marrying men that are married with kids. Most young men tend to stay away from them because they feel female celebs, apart from their reported
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has decried the level of decay in Nigerian universities, saying 200 and 300 level students could not write simple letter. The Chairman of the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, branch of the union, Dr. Mohammed Aliyu, said this yesterday while addressing a news conference in Zaria. He said: “It is disheartening to note that students in 200 level, even 300 level, cannot write simple letter. This has shown how poor our education standard is.” Aliyu said the ongoing strike was not about salary increment, but to compel the Federal Government to honour the 2009 agreement with the union. He said: “After three years of serious negotiation, government signed the October 2009 agreement with our union. “The agreement was aimed at addressing the rot in
Shock and disbelief could best describe the expression on the face of Kingsley Ifeanyi, on discovering that his kidnap, two months ago, was masterminded by his bosom friend, Jimoh Olalere. Ifeanyi’s kidnap sent fears down the spines of his family and friends around Ibeju-Lekki area, as they wondered why anyone could even think of kidnapping a mere bricklayer. The bubble, however, burst Monday, following the arrest of ten suspected kidnappers by the Lagos State Police command, who have been responsible for series of kidnapping at Ibeju- Lekki and its environs. To the amazement of all, one of the suspects, Jimoh Olalere, confessed to have masterminded Ifeanyi’s kidnap out of jealousy. According to Jimoh, the quarrel started between him and his bosom friend following the sale of two plots
It seems that Mr Kehinde Oloyede, the estranged husband of popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele is out on a mission to ridicule her by all means possible. But what could have gone wrong? In his reaction to why he broke up with his wife on Facebook, Mr Oloyede said: “I did so to catch Funke’s attention”! So, how come he had to announce their break up on Facebook to catch his wife’s attention? Could it be that she has not been giving him attention, especially in the bedroom, as his wife? Well, I don’t know how true, but a source told us that Funke Akindele actually parked out of their home about two months ago, leaving her husband in the cold.
