Most of you will remember Yetunde Akilapa, an actress that was sent to jail for wrong accusation of theft. She was later discharged and acquitted in court for lack of evidence. She tells her story to First Weekly below. There is a rumour that you were set up by your friends, how true is this? Yes, it’s true. Some of my friends set me up. Why did they do that to you? Let me narrate everything to you from the beginning. I am into business, I sell weave-ons. I learnt hairdressing before joining acting, it was just that I had no time for the business because of my acting career. I used to have a salon at Bariga area of Lagos State, but I left the place for a friend, Titi, who is a cousin to my boyfriend, Wale. The only thing I didn’t give her was the weave-ons in the shop. I told her
Well you can never believe everything you hear or see on paper and if you don’t have, don’t give cause most times it just leads to embarrassment like Nigerians will say “No Do Pass Your Power”. In a recent interview with HipHop World magazine, OJB said that many cheques, given to him towards his kidney transplant, bounced: There are well-meaning and bitter people in Naija. Most people were just complaining and these people didn’t even donate. All the figures flying in the air then were just fake and make-belief from different angles because if we had the money we wouldn’t have the governor donate N16million. Lots of cheques that some people donated bounced. I don’t want to mention names and when we called them to come for their cheques they didn’t come for

OJB and wife Mamma J just had their first exclusive interview since they returned last week, with HipHopWorld. Excerpts: Why did you come back secretly? You know it’s a public thing, yet personal too and after the surgery there were lots of restrictions like don’t shake hands, don’t hug people, always put on a surgical mask if you have to go out, for the next six months. So I just have to be careful. What do you have to say about the controversies that surrounded donations towards your kidney transplant? Well, there are well meaning and bitter people in Naija. Most people were just complaining and these people didn’t even donate. All the figures flying in the air then were just fake and make-belief from different angles because if we had the money we wouldn’t have the governor

South American country Uruguay is set to become the first country in the world to allow its citizens to grow, sell, buy and smoke marijuana. The country’s Senate began its final debate on the issue today Tuesday Dec. 10th and claim they want to legalize it in a bid to take the business from criminals. If this bill, which has the support of majority of the House and the president of the country, is passed, Uruguay will be the first country to legalize a trade that is illegal everywhere else in the world. After the trade is made legal, Uruguay will then draft regulations imposing state control over the cultivation and distribution of marijuana. Anyone who wants to go into the business would have to be licensed and registered, with government monitors keeping tabs to enforce limits, such

You have seen his list of 5 best actresses of 2013. Now here is the list of the actors. In my earlier assessment of the five best actresses of 2013, I used personal and universally accepted criteria to arrive at my conclusions. Obviously, a lot of actresses left out of the last list must have felt shortchanged but I still don’t have apologies for any omission therein. The same process goes with this list for the Best Five Actors in 2013 in Nollywood. Once again, I state here that those actors and actresses who strut red carpets and push their publicity agenda through a dime-a-dozen instagram pictures should actually decide if they wish to be actors or socialites. Enough of confusing the people with plastic smiles at almost every red carpet event. Let people judge you on the MERITS of your
Rihanna rewrites the record for the most No. 1s on Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as Eminem’s “The Monster,” on which she’s featured, jumps 4-1. The song is Rihanna’s 11th No. 1, pushing her past Katy Perry (10) for the most leaders in the chart’s 21-year history. Congrats, RiRi! No related posts.
Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim is beginning to get more recognition in Nigeria, thanks to numerous red carpet appearances & that incident criticizing OJB Jezreel’s Fundraising efforts. In a recent interview with Punch the mixed race, the actress shed some light (no pun intended) on her personal life, growing up half caste, marrying a quarter caste & the challenges of being mixed in Nollywood. On Growing up, here’s what the shapely actress had to say I am a half-caste and as a child, there was no colour difference- you are just happy with where you are and who you are with. Then, Ghanaians accepted people for who they are. However, I am being told now that I am receiving more favours because of my fair complexion. It seems people now have issues with coloured people. On
