Genevieve Nnaji- No more
I always forget Genevieve was once a musician and I wonder why she rarely mentions the single she released in 2005. I’m glad she never abandoned acting for this. Listening to this song more than ten years after, it is a song that will go well at a traditional marriage ceremony in Ihiala…especially the part where she starts rapping in Igbo.
Omotola – Feel Alright
She was one of the top actress that tried their luck in music in 2005, probably boredom, after she was banned by the then Ejike Asiegbu led AGN regime. In that year, she released a single titled Gba where she kept screaming “Naija Lowa Kilosele”. This was followed by a video and wack album. Omotola why?

TONTO DIKE AKA POKOBABY – ITZ OVA
Tonto Dike started out a as a video vixen in Mama G’s “Make we Jolly” where she was seen grinding her waist in a crop top. This is probably what motivated her to release her singles “Hi”and “Itz Over” in 2013. Fans home and abroad made it clear that her music is painful to listen to and they would stop watching her movies if she ever tries it again. Dbanj signing her up under his label couldn’t even save her music career.
JIM IYKE – WHO AM I
The list of wannabe Nollywood singers will not be complete without the name of controversial actor, Jim Iyke. The former Globacom ambassador also romanced music when he released the song, Who Am I, featuring one of Nigeria’s finest, Tuface Idibia. Jim Iyke, whose genre of music is rap, thought he was Nigeria’s Lil Wayne and was actually keen on making a statement musically as he spent a fortune on radio and television hypes. Yet, nothing nothing.
Notable actors who also tried music and failed include,
