D’Banj Signs Durella To DB Records
D’banj‘s quest for dominance in the Nigerian music scene won’t stop now; he might have lost out on signing Olamide and Davido – but he has nicked another artiste, this time a familiar friend-foe.
The self-proclaimed ‘African Michael Jacskon‘, we’ve learnt has signed his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend Oluwadamilare Okulaja better known to the public as Durella.
The move might however not come as a surprise to everyone, considering that Banger Lee (that’s D’banj’s new nickname by the way) and the ‘King of the Zanga’ Durella recently settled their differences. Some weeks back, D’banj and his DB Records crew released a single ‘Ibadi e‘ off their compilation album (D’ King’s Men) which featured a verse from Durella.

In the last 15 months, the Nigerian entertainment scene has witnessed more label shakedowns than we could have ever imagined. And the breakup season isn’t over yet…
Rapper Naetochukwu Chikwe better known as Naeto C has ended his relationship with Storm Records, the music home where he launched his career into the Nigerian music market.
NET investigations have revealed that the rapper plans to fully launch hisWKG/Cerious Music label in a matter of months.
Unlike the many breakups that have preceded Naeto’s, the rapper’s exit is not battlemented; both parties have been very silent about the issue. As a matter of fact, Storm Records insist that the rapper is still signed with them.
One of the label’s directors Tola Odunsi admits that Naeto has had his own record label Cerious Music
Kanye West Names 6th Album “Yeezus”
This is the artwork for Kanye’s forthcoming album called Yeezus, due out June 18. First he released a song titled ‘I Am A God’, now an album titled Yeezus.

2face, Ice Prince Nominated For BET Awards 2013 [SEE FULL LIST]
Nigerian artistes – Pop singer 2face Idibia and rapper Ice Prince Zamani have both been nominated for this years BET Awards taking place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on June 30.
2face and Ice Prince are nominated in the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ category along with four other African artistes - Toya Delazy (South Africa), Donald (South Africa), R2Bees (Ghana) and Radio and Weasel (Uganda).
2face and Ice Prince aren’t new to the awards show; in 2011, 2face Idibia won along side D’banj and in 2012, Ice Prince was nominated alongside Wizkid (Wizkid won the award with Sarkodie).

D’banj To Sign Olamide To His Music Label
New reports claim that the koko master, D’banj has concluded plans on signing fast rising rapper Olamide to his music label.
Olamide who featured in Dbanj’s newly released “Ibadi e” – one of the hit tracks in his DKM album – has been very close to the koko master of late.
They were both at the first Nigerian Entertainment Conference and were together all through the event.
We hear that they arrived together and left together – we can’t wait to see Olamide working hand in hand with the koko master!
