Newborn Baby Rescued From Pit Toilet in Katsina
This is miracle in the making, a newborn baby girl who was dumped in pit toilet by an unidentified person at Rafin-dadi primary school in Katsina has been found alive after rigorous search and rescue mission.
A teacher at the primary school, Malama Amina said a sign of blood was discovered in 1 of the classrooms & was traced to the school’s pit toilet
According to Amina they all gathered around it, wondering what it must be, and they insisted that the toilet should be dug out in order to clear any doubt.
Some good Samaritans set to work and a fine baby girl was found alive inside, probably born in the class the previous night and dumped in the toilet by her Mother.
The girl was well and hearty except for the worms which filled her ears.
“We are all mothers, so we washed her thoroughly and clothed her.” Said Amina
The ward head Malam Rufa’i Tukur to whom the incident was reported to immediately, was at the scene, and warned of severe penalty on whoever committed this cruel act.
“We are going to search vigorously for the culprit and statistics of all pregnant women who gave birth recently in the area are going to be conducted.” Said the ward head
The innocent baby girl was handed over to a Motherless babies home in Katsina for proper care.
This is the 3rd baby to be dumped in less than 1 month, the other 2 babies were found dead inside polythene bag at an Abattoir new burial ground and Kofar-Marusa area respectively.
