Forget that side.. Those people are not learning from mistakes at all.. By basically watching the finished movies again, they can see & hear their mistakes.

You know what watch indie films on youtube fan films and original and you will see the same thing. It’s a learning thing.

Yeah seriously. That’s one of the reasons that the Academy Award was created. Plus many don’t realize that It Happened One Night was complete shit when the actors first read the script. In fact Clark Gable, Claudette Cobert didn’t even want to do the movie.

Save your money, and buy a Panavision or Arri FILM camera–then make the same movies. Peace.

Why do Nigerian film makers feel that because they have engaged musicians for a film they must get as much music, especially very loud music from them? A good film is often ruined by excessively loud music so cannot hear what the actors are saying!!! Silence can be golden sometimes…

I am glad there is a Nollywood… For now many of the stories have very weak childish plots. More importantly the filmmakers still do not know how to use music. Often the music drowns out what the actors are saying. It gets very annoying some times. Music and sound effects should be subtle. Some times silence can be golden, giving more impact. Often what would have been a very good film is ruined by excessive and unnecessarily loud music.

It’s pretty impressive, especially because, if wikipedia is to be believed, they are making money making small budget films. This shows that there is a business model *very* different from Hollywood that can work, and generate affordable movies for the masses.

c’mon now. they are trying. how old is Nollywood anyways??? 16 years or thereabout?? Hollywood movies from the late 19th and early 20th centuries were not that good either. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
