Arsenal agree £24m fee with Manchester United for Van Persie
One of the longest running transfer battle is over, as Arsenal have agreed to sell their captain, Robin van Persie, to Manchester United.
Sir Alex Ferguson stepped up his pursuit of the striker, who scored 30 goals last season, after he lost Lucas Moura to PSG. His initial bids of around £10 million and £15 million, were thrown out by the Gunners.
“Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.
“Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.
“Further updates will feature on Arsenal.com in due course.”
