Life is truly what you make of it; this is what comes to mind when we think about what young enigmatic entrepreneur Jason Njoku has done with his company “IROKO Partners Limited”.

IROKO Partners is now the largest distributors of Nigerian Entertainment globally, and in such a very short time too!!.Many of such franchises in other industries have either sprung up from family money, or government allocations, but Jason Njoku’s baby came out from a loan from a friend!, that’s the kind of daring steps that need to be taken if one is going to accomplice anything in life.
We had a chance to meet him in a recent interview he had with BBC in his office in London, and the one thing that stands out is that he is just a normal guy that lives in a fast paced world that decided to change something he saw. He identified a problem and solved it.
In the interview when asked about bank loans and iROKO Partners, he had this to say;
“ At the time, I struggled to get a bank account, when I jumped on a plane to come to Lagos, my mum cried saying why do you want to waste your money.. I haven’t put any of my own money into iROKO Partners, because there just hasn’t been any”

His advice to young business enthusiasts;
“You just have to do it, you can listen to all the advice in the world, but you have to be able to own up to your mistakes, you just have to have really thick skin, because the biggest barrier is ourselves”
