Celebrity-Inspired Wedding Dresses
Are you a bride-to-be looking for a wedding dress that is at the cutting edge of fashion? How about tying the knot with a celebrity-inspired wedding dress? Whether you’ll be walking down the aisle soon or you are interested in the latest trends in fashion, here are some celebrity-inspired wedding dresses that are sure to catch your eye:
- Vanessa Minnillo – Actress Vanessa Minnillo tied the knot with Nick Lachey last July. She chose a traditional gown with some modern elements. It’s a Monique Lhuillier gown with jeweled corset bodice, full pickup silk made skirt, and a bow belt at the waistline. (Style 2210, $2,541, Tara Keely)
- Kate Moss – Supermodel Kate Moss, in another summer, 2011 wedding, married rocker Jamie Hince. This wedding gown was designed by Dior designer and longtime friend John Galliano. The design of the cream sheath was inspired by Jazz age photos of Zelda Fitzgerald. It’s a beautiful medley of vintage inspired details, sheer accents, and gold embroidery. (Toulouse, $5,800, Claire Pettibone)
- Kim Kardashian – Reality TV star Kim Kardashian certainly conjures up a collective groan with many people upon mention of her name, especially after one of the most talked about weddings of last year to NBA basketball player Kris Humphries crashed and burned a mere 72 days after tying the knot. Despite the failed marriage, Kardashian really shined in her custom made corseted Vera Wang gown with full tulle skirt. (Style 2255, $3,500 Dennis Basso Exclusively for Kleinfeld)
- Kate Middleton – This list would not be complete without Kate Middleton, now also known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Unless you are living under a rock, you know that she married Prince William, the future King of England, in the wedding of millennium last year. The Duchess’ gown was designed by Sara Burton of Alexander McQueen. It certainly was the most anticipated wedding dress of last year. The gown has a form-fitting bodice, exquisite long laced sleeves, and a full skirt made of ivory and white satin. As expected, many designers quickly created their own versions, containing many features of the original. (England, $2,300, Blue by Enzoani)
- Miranda Lambert – Country star Miranda Lambert wed fellow country star Blake Shelton in homely wedding, followed by a barnyard reception. She didn’t have to look far when choosing a design for her wedding dress. Saying that she wanted a dress to bring her “good luck”, she chose the same ivory halter wedding gown as that of her mother, who has been married for 33 years. (Bernstein, $3,775, Peter Langner)
- Molly Sims – Model and actress Molly Sims married film producer Scott Stuber in a Napa Valley wedding ceremony in September of last year. Her drop-waist Marchesa gown was good enough to make on the cover of “Brides” magazine. Notable features of the gown include an emphasized V-neckline, lace sleeves, and a flowing A-line skirt. (Chloe, $4,800, Bimbaum & Bullock)
